The mission of the Public Relations Coordinator is to get up-to-date information out to tribal members and the general public through various communication channels.
Essential Duties Assist with the creation and implementation of the tribe's public image.
Serve as the liaison between the Tribal government and the public.
Coordinate the Tribe's public relations efforts to develop and maintain a positive public image through effective communication.
Write press releases, respond to requests from the media, promote stories to news publications, develop relationships with press, organizations, and public interest groups.
Post on tribal social media channels to extend government efforts to the membership and public.
Additional Duties Assist tribal leadership and/or departments with social media, written communications, and presentation asset creation to effectively communicate tribal initiatives.
Manage quarterly newsletter updating membership on key events and updates from the Tribe.
Plan and implement public relations strategies and campaigns.
Coordinate with other departments to tell stories about the modern-day Snoqualmie Indian Tribe with respect to the past.
Develop monthly, quarterly, and annual media activity reports.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities The Public Relations Coordinator shall have an intimate knowledge of public relations channels and levers.
Videography, photography, and graphic design skills are a plus.
Requirements:
Strong scheduling and time-management skills.
Leadership skills including skip level presentation abilities, media relations, and ability to delegate.
Excellent communication skills, excellent writing skills, organizational and multi-tasking skills.
Education & Experience Education Required:
Bachelor's degree in marketing, journalism, business, or related field required OR a combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the essential functions of the position may substitute for degree requirement.
Education Preferred:
Master's degree in marketing, journalism, business, or related field preferred.
Experience:
At least 3 years in public relations, media, communications, digital marketing, or related fields.
In a 3-5-year span, have developed meaningful PR and media relations experiences, preferably in a tribal setting and/or within an applicable industry.
Certifications/Licenses:
PRSA Certificate or similar preferred.
Other Requirements Must be able to pass a thorough pre-employment background investigation.
Must agree to be subject to the Tribe's Controlled Substance and Alcohol Testing Policy to include pre-employment screening.
Tribal Preference The Snoqualmie Indian Tribe follows the Tribal Hiring Preference as outlined in tribal policies, including the Tribal Employment Rights Ordinance (TERO).
TERO sets forth certain hiring preferences for qualified individuals who are enrolled in a federally recognized Indian tribe, as well as, in some cases, preference for certain family members of those individuals.
Additional Information This is a full-time hourly position and employment is at-will.
Compensation will be determined based on experience and starts at $25.
81/hour.

Location:
Snoqualmie, WA (Hybrid work arrangements may be possible in accordance with the Tribe's Telecommuting Policy).
This role will have some in-person job duties and requirements in Snoqualmie, WA, and the surrounding area.
