Engineering Supervisor

The Engineering Supervisor (ES) is responsible for managing a multidisciplinary group of designers and engineers at Technical Glass Products (TGP) who create architectural and mechanical drawings for the company's internal and external customers. As a strong team leader, the ES will independently guide and direct the Engineering Team to exceed customer expectations in design, quality and service. Hands-on supervisory responsibilities include managing project engineering, providing production and infrastructure design support, creating metrics to efficiently manage the Engineering Team workload and training individuals in best practices. In this position, the ES may also lend support to the Framing Systems Manager for test engineering and research and development engineering.
As a core member of the TGP team, the ES will collaborate with other internal departments to ensure the company's finished products meet our customers' expectations of superior quality and on-time delivery. TGP designs and manufactures high-quality, custom architectural and fire-rated glazing solutions for the architectural building markets and related manufacturers. We work closely with architects, engineers, constructors as a supplier of specialty fire rated and architectural building materials. TGP is a privately held, small, growing organization, with an international presence.
Lead and manage the timely and accurate delivery of architectural and mechanical submittal and manufacturing drawings to external and internal customers.
Oversee the planning and execution of all projects ensuring deliverables and deadlines are met.
Develop and recommend organizational engineering tools, techniques, and practices to manage daily workflow, improve operational efficiencies and quality, and to promote improved profitability.
Implement initiatives for continuous quality improvement of engineering deliverables.
Directly supervise employees in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws including interviewing, hiring, and training. Provide policy and leadership. Plan, assign and direct work. Create a culture of engagement. Appraise performance. Reward and discipline employees as required.
Grow departmental expertise through internal and external staff development.
Provide exceptional internal and external customer service.
Experience, Qualifications, Knowledge & Skills
Bachelor's degree in engineering strongly preferred, especially mechanical engineering; or equivalent education with applicable experience will be considered.
Minimum six years of related engineering experience in manufacturing, product development, project management, work flow, and resource planning.
Working knowledge, including implementation, of engineering processes and procedures, drafting standards, bill of material development and control, quality systems and flow of quality requirements, AutoCAD, Inventor or other 3D software, configurators, Excel, project management tools, and resource planning systems.
Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem solving skills.
Strong leadership skills with an ability to manage both personal and team's work load and to prioritize multiple tasks.
Demonstrate independent judgment and initiative.
Strong organizational and project management skills combined with a close attention to detail.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Driven self-starter dedicated to quality and continual process improvement


Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
