Material Handler

Responsibilities:

  • Receive purchase parts and finished goods and put away in designated locations. Must follow all manufacturing and quality procedures and requirements.
  • Uses Pick List paperwork to pull parts according to Production needs and priorities.
  • Accumulate required products while consistently following policies and procedures, such as verifying first in first out , checking expiration date on dated material, etc.
  • Fill Kanban or other material needs on the Production Floor as required.
  • May perform audits for Limited Shelf Life Materials and/or Refrigerated Items.
  • Retrieve product in a timely manner from Receiving Inspection, Receiving, or Production.
  • Operate forklift and other Material Handling equipment to retrieve and put away product
  • Perform cycle counting as assigned.
  • Maintain an orderly and safe working environment to ensure cleanness and employee safety.

  • It is the responsibility of every Spacelabs Healthcare employee to report to their manager or a member of senior management any quality problems or defects in order for corrective action to be implemented and to avoid recurrence of the problem.
  • Duties may be modified or assigned at any time to meet the needs of the business.

Qualifications

  • High school degree, for the purpose of performing basic math functions, reading and interpreting instructions, writing procedures and completing shipping forms.
  • 7+ years Experience in warehouse functions such as stocking, cycle counting, pick and pack and ship is required. (Level 1 = 1 year minimum, Level 2 = 3+ years, Level 3 = 7+ years; relevant experience and performance determines level)
  • Ability to troubleshoot and reconcile inventory issues including inaccurate counts and receiving errors.
  • Computer usage - Ability to use MS Office, including email to communicate with other areas of the Company regarding priorities and specific requests, Excel or other computer programs such as MRP database for inventory transactions, etc.
  • Available to work OT when required.
  • Attention to detail / organized approach to work. Able to receive and follow instructions and assignments, and meet given priorities.
  • Able to work as part of a team.
  • Should possess good communication skills and be able to escalate issues to Manager, including continuous improvement ideas when appropriate.
  • Organized and able to perform duties without close supervision.
  • Able to be certified to operate equipment such as forklifts and other material handling equipment.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
