Manager, Software Development Enterprise IP & Security
T-Mobile Enterprise IP & Security (EIS) plays a key role in guarding customer trust and enterprise-wide security. We collaborate with multiple functional areas and impact every element of our business: corporate, networks, retail, IT and others.
We are looking for a result-oriented Software Development manager to lead the EIS Platform Solutions group. You will mentor, coach and lead a team of developers, who will establish, build & maintain a solid operational platform for IP and security infrastructure. You will streamline platform capabilities, drive architectural / design choices, and support new feature development for closed-loop analytics and automation. Your success will be measured on your ability to rapidly deliver software solutions to our internal customers, primarily focused on network experience, security solutions, and operational support. We expect that developers and management alike to take a high level of ownership for the solution vision, technical architecture and delivery. This position will interface with cross-functional teams of developers, domain experts and managers working on multiple projects. You are expected to provide thought leadership and collaborate with Engineering & Operations teams, understand implications of work, drive consensus and recommendations for solutions.

Essential Functions
Technology and System
  • Develop / evolve platforms, architectures and solutions to support Enterprise IP and Security functions. This includes performance monitoring, security analytics, network experience, capacity forecasting, operations support and asset management.
  • Develop automated internal frameworks, closed-loop analytics / automation for specific use cases and scalable tools leveraging machine learning / AI. Enable self-service capabilities and flexible integration with tools, on-premise and hybrid cloud solutions
  • Provide technical expertise throughout the solution life cycle including requirements, design, implementation, delivery and support phases
  • Contribute to solution strategy and roadmap in collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders
  • Works with SQL server suite, Power BI / Tableau and cloud BI solutions. Shares expertise in data modeling, ETL, meta-data management and data quality. Collaborates with users and developers on the efficient use of visualization tools for self-service.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of industry best practices, and a deep understanding of how data is extracted, loaded in a large environment and transformed into reports and insights, with data originating from multiple source systems.
  • Leads IP and Security analytics / automation proof of concepts.

Minimum Required
  • 5+ years of experience in a software engineering environment or experience working in a highly technical role required.
  • 1+ years' experience managing a team of software engineers in a team lead, supervisor or manager capacity required.
  • 2+ years of experience in the design, implementation and delivery of scalable production analytics / automation platforms
  • Cloud experience: At least one of the public cloud services (Azure, AWS, Google)
  • Strong leadership & management skills, including strategic thinking, self-awareness, and empathy.
  • Strong skills including listening skills and ability to build consensus across teams.
  • Strong demonstrated technical writing and presentation skills.
  • Experience with PowerBI, Tableau or similar solutions
  • Databases: Demonstrated skills in designing or developing solutions with SQL database backends (MS SQL, PostgreSQL, MySQL)
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Solutioning experience: Identify and analyze business requirements from stakeholders, convert to technical requirements, evaluate benefit vs TCO, define and update solution approach.
  • Analytics: Experience using Python / R for machine learning, working with structured / unstructured data, data cleansing and data transformation.
  • Experience in at least one of the Bigdata applications (Hadoop, Hive, Impala, Spark, Splunk)
  • Understanding of IP networking topology, protocols, data flows, and how firewalls, load balancers, VPN, DNS systems operate.
  • Familiarity with ITIL, ISO 27001, etc.

Minimum Required
  • Bachelors Degree. Computer Science or in a computer programming related field.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
